We don't paint one kind of house.
Drive twenty minutes in any direction from our shop and the houses change completely. Pre-war homes along the lake were built with plaster, old-growth trim and cedar that has been repainted a dozen times — every one of those layers has to be read before a brush comes out. The mid-century subdivisions through Mundelein and Arlington Heights bring aluminum siding, painted brick and trim that has quietly gone soft at the sills. Newer construction west and north looks easy until you find factory-finished fiber cement that will reject the wrong coating outright.
None of those houses want the same repaint. The prep is different, the primer is different, and the honest answer about how long it will hold is different too. What doesn't change is the walkthrough: Mike looks at what is actually in front of him, tells you what the surface needs, and prices that — not a package.

No. Your estimate is based on the work in front of us — square footage, prep, surfaces and access — not on the drive. A repaint in Winnetka is priced the same way as one two blocks from our shop.
Some North Shore communities and HOAs require color approval before an exterior repaint. If your property is affected, we'll point you to what the association or village needs before work starts.
